My Magic Wand

Sometimes I really wish I could wave around a magic wand like Glenda the Good Witch and my entire apartment would be clean, all the chores for the day would be done and dinner would be ready. I wouldn't even mind being able to wiggle my nose like Samantha and seeing all the bills get paid or blinking my eyes like Jeannie and seeing all the laundry washed, dried, folded and put away. Unfortunately, I have no magical powers, no wand and no wiggling nose. I do have a Dirt Devil and a wooden spoon, my own wands of sorts...tools of the mommy-trade!

Life of the Lazy

Dear Motivation,

My house is a disaster area. Clothes need to be washed, folded and put away. Vacation stuff still needs to be cleaned up...almost two weeks after we've returned. Three weeks (now technically 4 1/2 weeks) worth of mail needs to be sifted through, bills need to be paid (hopefully before they are late!) and flyers and newspapers need to be recycled. My floors are begging, no pleading, to be swept, vacuumed and mopped. There are so many things to be done! Let me know when your vacation is over so we can get started.
